Client Case: The client is a significant player in Europe that initially focused on dry pet food. Gradually, they have introduced a limited range of wet food products but are uncertain about how to strategically expand this segment.

GC Consulting Proposal: To address this challenge, we first compiled a comprehensive overview of potential products that align with the client's brand concept and target customer base. Our objective is to offer various types of wet food in diverse packaging options, ranging from economical to super premium. Once we finalized the list of products the client intends to launch, we solicited price quotations from several private label producers across Europe. We held meetings with each producer to discuss and confirm their price offers. Additionally, we compared the received quotations and conducted an analysis of samples from the different producers.

In the coming weeks, GC Consulting will accompany the client’s team members to finalize the decision-making process regarding the selection of formulas.

Results: In the first quarter of 2025, we anticipate launching 25 to 30 new SKU’s within the client’s portfolio. Following a period of 9 to 12 months post-launch, we will evaluate the performance of these products to determine which should be retained, modified, or discontinued. Once sufficient volume has been established, we will initiate a new price request reflecting more precise volume and forecast details.
